RESPONSIBLE TRAVEL / OUR IMPACT

Responsible travel begins with the choices made throughout a journey and continues through our long-term commitment to projects for children in Sri Lanka.

Travel That Gives Back

Sri Lanka has given us far more than beautiful landscapes and unforgettable experiences. It gave us friendships, inspiration and the reason this company exists. From the very beginning, we wanted Saviva Lanka Humanity Travel to be more than a travel company. We wanted every journey to create positive opportunities for the people who make travelling here so special. For us, responsible travel isn’t a marketing slogan. It’s about treating people with respect, supporting local communities and ensuring that tourism leaves something positive behind.

Every journey you take with us is made possible by local people. From your driver and guide to the family preparing your meal, the hotel welcoming you or the artisan sharing their craft, every experience is created by passionate Sri Lankans.

Wherever possible, we work with locally owned businesses, experienced professionals and trusted partners who genuinely care about providing exceptional experiences while strengthening their own communities.

By travelling locally, you help create sustainable employment and support families across the island.

Great journeys are built on great relationships. We believe the people behind every experience deserve to be treated as valued partners, not simply suppliers. That’s why we focus on long-term collaborations based on trust, fairness, open communication and mutual respect. These relationships allow us to deliver authentic experiences while ensuring the people who welcome our guests benefit from tourism in a meaningful way.

Sri Lanka’s greatest treasures are not only its landscapes, but also its traditions, wildlife and communities. We encourage our guests to travel with curiosity, kindness and respect. Understanding local customs, dressing appropriately at sacred places, observing wildlife responsibly and protecting natural environments helps preserve everything that makes Sri Lanka so special. We believe the best travellers are those who leave places exactly as beautiful as they found them.

We believe travel should create genuine human connections, not turn people or animals into attractions. That’s why we carefully select experiences that respect the dignity of local communities, protect wildlife and celebrate authentic culture. We avoid activities that exploit vulnerable people, encourage intrusive tourism or prioritise entertainment over wellbeing. Every experience we recommend is chosen because it creates value for both our guests and the communities who generously share their home with them.

Our Commitment to Sri Lanka's Children

Giving back has always been part of our vision. Saviva Lanka Humanity Travel plans to contribute approximately 10–15% of its annual profits to support projects that improve the lives of children in Sri Lanka.b These contributions will be managed through our independent Swiss charitable association, ensuring that support is transparent, purposeful and directed towards carefully selected initiatives where it can make a genuine difference. By separating our travel company from the charitable work, we ensure both organizations can focus on what they do best while remaining fully transparent.

We believe trust is built through openness. As our projects grow, we’ll regularly share which initiatives are being supported, how funding is allocated and the positive impact these contributions create. Where information isn’t yet available, we’ll simply say so. We’d rather be honest than make promises we can’t support with evidence.

Our ambition isn’t to become the biggest travel company in Sri Lanka. Our ambition is to become the most trusted. We want to create unforgettable journeys, support meaningful local employment, build long-lasting partnerships and contribute year after year to projects that give children brighter opportunities for the future. Because when tourism is built on genuine human connection, everyone benefits.

All travel services are provided by our Sri Lankan travel company. Our charitable activities are managed independently through our Swiss non-profit association. The planned contribution of approximately 10–15% of annual company profits is made by the company itself and is separate from your travel booking. Guests who wish to make an additional personal donation will always have the opportunity to do so directly through the association.
